I know it asks “what’s she grilling?” but i have a few cooking methods up my sleeve.
One of our family traditions includes white sand and waves. Every year my family goes to the beach for Thanksgiving. The deal is, my grandparents cook two meals a day and while we can do whatever we want during the day we have to be around their table for breakfast and dinner. My grandfather (Pa) created a spaghetti dish one night that quickly became a family favorite and frequently requested dish. Everyone goes back for seconds and maybe even thirds 🙂 Its called Pa’s Best, fitting right?
I made this for my herd one night and they absolutely LOVED it. There are nothing but memories made and lots of laughing when we gather for this dish. I hope you and your family enjoy this as much as ours.
Serves : 4
8 oz. fettuccine or pasta of choice
12 oz. Italian sausage
2-3 T Italian Seasoning
2 (14.5oz each) cans diced tomatoes- do not drain
1/2 – 1 cup white wine- preferably Chablis
1/2 medium green bell pepper- chopped
1/2 medium onion- chopped
1 T olive oil
Freshly grated Parmesan
Heat a skillet over medium high heat with one tablespoon olive oil. Slice the sausage, let me tell you a little secret…are you ready….If you flash freeze the sausage first it is easier to slice, toss it in the skillet with the onions and peppers. Saute until veggies are tender and sausage is browned. The sausage will not be cooked through, it will continue to cook while simmering. Next, add the Italian Seasoning, diced tomatoes and white wine. Reduce heat to low and cook for 30 minutes. The longer this dish cooks the better it tastes!!
In the meantime, cook pasta accordingly.
Top with freshly grated Parmesan and serve with garlic bread. Enjoy!
